Boldr Venture Rally, Wells Junior Chrono

The latest from Boldr;

The Wells family has a brand new addition – both in our watch range AND in real life! While our Brand Ambassador Daniel Wells & his family anticipate the arrival of their firstborn child, we named our latest Venture Rally model after the little champion.

Seiko VK64 movement, sapphire crystal and beautiful lume make this one a winner for us at NWC mag.

Daniel and the Wells family continue to push the boundaries of achievement in Rally Racing in Australia, recently topping their category at the April 2021 Sunraysia Motor Sports Club desert dash!

Complete with a racing stripe NATO strap, The Rally Wells Junior is housed in a super-tough & lightweight titanium chronograph with a tachymeter for gearheads to play with. Just like it’s parents, the Wells 201 & Wells 008, it delivers the quintessential field watch experience that has made the Venture a global favorite.

This one retails at $299, plus import duty and VAT.

Boldr Odyssey Bronze Gets Upgrades

Boldr has sent us some info on their upgraded Odyssey dive model. This big case bronze watch has new features and is going on pre-order in a few days time, priced at $359. You need to add on import duty and VAT in the UK of course.

Here’s the word from Boldr;

Using a new technology called Lumicast®, the dial markers on the watch are cast from ceramic and Swiss Super-LumiNova® to fit our design. This means that the lume is not applied on the markers, but the markers themselves are luminous with unparalleled brightness compared to its peers.

The ‘3D’ or raised Lumicast® indexes also act like batteries that use sunlight to charge during the day in order to glow powerfully at night, or anywhere without light. Pretty neat, right?

We’ve also added a high double dome crystal for increased legibility to go along with the Odyssey’s dive-friendly features.

With the 45.5mm case being as chunky as it is, we knew it would require an appropriate strap to keep it in check. The Druber® strap is made from flouroelastomer rubber – super strong, durable. and resistant to extreme temperatures while feeling soft and comfortable on the wrist.

Boldr Venture GMT Breaks Cover

Boldr Supply has a new GMT model, the Venture, which is out now.

This 38mm wide, titanium case watch features a quartz movement, sapphire crystal, screwdown signed crown and 200m of water resistance. It comes with a NATO style strap too.

The UK price is £217 but you will need to add on import duty and VAT on top. That could be another £60 or so.

Boldr Medic III Has Anti-Virus Coating

Boldr has sent us some onfo on their new field watch and we like the cut of their jib with this one. It’s got a fancy coating which is resistant to virus stuff and bacterial warfare. OK, maybe not warfare..but you know, dirty old microbes looking to expand their activities. Here is the word from Boldr;

This striking blue beauty is the new Field Medic III, our latest medic-friendly trooper with an exclusive feature. Retaining all original specs, the FM III comes with a revolutionary protective coating known as BOLDR ProtectrTM. ProtectrTM is an invisible coating that kills viruses, harmful microbes, and multidrug resistant organisms effectively using nano-tech ‘blades’. Since the watch has been used by front-liners, the coating is a welcome addition particularly in environments with high virus exposure.

Consisting of many sharp, nano-particle blades that pierce the membranes of dangerous microbes, the coating effectively kills them upon contact without any harmful chemical residue. It also adds resistance to impact damage and scratches, and can last up to 30,000 washes! All the more reason to use & abuse it without worry.

Check out the new Field Medic III on www.boldrsupply.co today.

Bigger, Bolder and er..Boldr

Boldr are bringing back the Odyssey 45, which as the number suggests is a hefty dive watch with a 45mm case.
The previous release of the Odyssey 40 was met with cheers from those who prefer a leaner fit, says Boldr, but there were no shortage of enquiries on the return of the chunky big dive watches. Locked & loaded for a deep sea adventure, the Odyssey 45 is the first BOLDR watch to feature a sapphire bezel surrounding a sector dial design, clearly marked and powerfully lumed with Superluminova.
Nice engraved design on the caseback
It has a 500m depth rating, we love the bright, two-tone dial options and the first ten pieces sold have a useful $150 off the list price. Each fully stainless steel piece will also be marked with an individual serial number from 001/200 to 200/200. There is a very handsome two-tone green model in the line-up, plus Pacific Blue, Silver and a meteorite dial finish too. Inside there is a Japanese auto movement.
Very good dive spec for a UK price of £549 – plus any import taxes the government can think of. More info here.

Boldr Chaigo Is an Art-Lovers Delight

This latest model from Boldr in Singapore is a tribute to a bold graffiti artist. Here’s the press info;

While pursuing his dream of being an independent graffiti artist, Malaysian-born Kenji Chai drew inspiration from an unlikely source – the many stray dogs that littered the outskirts of KL city. Growing up in a broken family, Kenji could relate to being estranged, having to fend for himself from a young age. Unlike the strays, however, he had the power to decide from then on to live life on his terms. And so, Chaigo was born.

The image of the neon blue stray dog with his tongue sticking out represents the spirit of having fun with life and never giving up. Incidentally, Kenji is born in the year of the dog, and Chaigo is a combination of his surname with the Mandarin word for dog, ‘Go’.

Kenji has steadily gained a reputation and amassed a loyal fanbase through his graffiti artwork which has travelled from random Kuala Lumpur city street walls to adorn popular restaurants, buildings, and office spaces. He has also been commissioned to create huge art murals in Jakarta, Kazakhstan, Shanghai, New York, and many other cities around the globe. Over time, Kenji has become the go-to graffiti artist for multiple world-renown brands and creative personalities.

Resonating deeply with Kenji’s story, we were eager to spread his inspiring message through merchandise bearing the Chaigo identity. The titanium Venture Chaigo comes with a comfy lightweight titanium bracelet, workhorse NH35 automatic movement, and an interchangeable custom NATO strap designed by Kenji himself. It’s a 38mm case, screwdown crown and the whole kit comes in a collectos box with a Chaigo toy figure as well. Limited to 160 pieces.

“If success is about taking one step at a time, keep moving forward” – Kenji Chai

Price is $499 US dollars.

Boldr’s Limited Editions Offer Decent Spec & Value

We love Indie watch brands here because it’s all about making a dream reality; manufacturing on demand basically.

So a scout around Boldr Supply’s website today highlighted some limited edition models that are still available and may tempt you. Love bronze? The BOLDROdyssey Bronze comes with a Marine Grade CuSn8 bronze case, which will develop a unique patina with time and use – creating a distinctive character for each and every Odyssey Bronze watch that’s worn.

BlueOdysseyLume Boldr

This organic individualization perfectly represents the BOLDR ideal, letting each watch and wearer tell their own unique story. The Odyssey’s signature bezel, which has also been updated with new markings for added functionality.

Boldr bronze odyssey

Featuring an extremely robust bronze case meant for actual diving, the Odyssey can ride rough with an ultra-tough high-resistance screw-down case back, rated for up to 500m water resistance, and a screw-down crown with triple lock mechanism. A resilient Japanese Automatic movement and special helium escape valve also make sure your watch stays strong under any pressure and is tried and tested for your toughest challenges.

There’s a 45mm case size on this model and an NH35 Seiko auto movement inside. At $649 we think that’s a very impressive dive watch for the money. Just the blue dial and green dial options left in stock on the BOLDR Odyssey model by the way.

The slimmer Expedition Everest model has a 41mm case, Sellita SW200 power, 200m depth, plus SuperLumiNova on the dial. Plus inner rotating bezel and rubber strap. Great go-anywhere tool watch for $599.
