Baume & Mercier Riviera Blue, Or Grey

Two new Riviera models from Baume & Mercier this week. You can choose from a blue or silver grey dial Baumatic Riviera, with the grey priced at £4250 and the blue dial, steel bracelet option coming in at £4510. These are high prices for Baume branded watches, which often struggle to sell quickly on the UK pre-owned market. Baume & Mercier Riviera, With a Deeper Blue Dial

If you love the style of the AP Royal Oak, then maybe this new Baume & Mercier Riviera, with a wonderful deep blue dial and 12 sided bezel, might work for you. OK, it lacks the sheer prestige of the AP, but the Baume 10616 is still Swiss, looks sharp and has a 42mm case width that suits lots of watch fans. Sapphire crystal of … Continue reading Baume & Mercier Riviera, With a Deeper Blue Dial

Baume & Mercier Classima Just Lacks Pizazz

Baume and Mercier are a slightly offbeat brand for most watch collectors in the UK. Yes, they are Swiss, part  of the giant Richemont Group. But Baume lacks the luxury cachet of IWC, JLC, Panerai or Cartier. It’s seen as a starter brand, one for the poorer watch fans. OK, the Classima model is relatively inexpensive, with models starting at £1650. Using a Sellita SW200 … Continue reading Baume & Mercier Classima Just Lacks Pizazz

If you think … Continue reading Baume Throws in The Towel on Solo Brand Status

Baume & Mercier Riviera is a Quick Change Artist

We have seen lots of green dial watches from TAG, Rolex, IWC, Breitling, Oris and more over the last year. Baume and Mercier has joined the party, with their green dial Riviera model, for men and ladies. Very trick strap change tech on the lugs too. Yes, it does look a bit like an AP Royal Oak from a distance too – quite handy. Love … Continue reading Baume & Mercier Riviera is a Quick Change Artist

Can Baume Survive as An Independent Brand?

I only ask the question because having worked for a few years in a pawbroker’s shop I can honestly say that not only have I seen no interest at all in the few Baume & Mercier watches in stock, but nobody ever enquired about a particular model either. Two people in two years came in Baume & Mercier watches to sell and were shocked at … Continue reading Can Baume Survive as An Independent Brand?
