Undone are one of the more adventurous brands in Singapre. Bold colours, interesting movie or comic book character tie-ups, plus a nice range in dive watches. The Aqua II has been around a couple of years and for $460 it offers 300m depth rating, Seiko power, plus a huge crown & protectors. It looks the part, in the more decorative Foxtrot PVD version, or plain dial 316 Steel variant.
At 43mm across it’s a good size for actual swimmers and divers, not just those who like the dive watch styling everyday. Nothing worong with that of course, but underwater a bigger watch is better and more readable. Big hands and big markers all have decent lume too.
There’s an old saying amongst watch collectors; “Never take your best watch on holiday.” It’s true, hotel safe theft, beach bandits, late night bar pickpockets – they are all out there. So a wearing a more modest watch price-wise definitely helps. You could say the Undone Aqua II does the same job as a Seiko Prospex, for less cash, yet still has a Seiko movement. Yep, you would be correct there.
Here’s the word from Undone;
“Modern and robust, the Aqua 316L Steel is created with one goal in mind: To reflect an understated style in the urbanites. The 43mm case diameter is designed for bigger wrists or those who prefer a larger dial and case. On the black dial are red numerals snugged just below the indices for easy reference. Housed within the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is a Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism with a 42-hour power reserve.”
