Some watches just look right and the latest addition to the Citizen Promaster Dive collection is a winner. Green dial, green bezel, always a good combo. Add in 200m of resistance, 44mm wide case, plenty of lume and a mineral crystal and the spec is tempting at £399.
You get the usual chronograph functions too, so it’s versatile at the racetrack as it is underwater. We like the date feature, big crown with protectors, plus the solar cell power unit is another good reason to own one. Citizen have been gradually increasing the cell’s ability to hold power, even when the watch is boxed, so one of the main bugbears about a solar watch is receding into history. No more placing in a window to reactivate the cell after a week in a drawer.
Well not for ten years anyway.
A five year guarantee is something that Citizen offers on entry level watches, which many Swiss do not, so there y’go.
