Breitling has released a limited edition Navitimer, to celebrate that great Transatlantic carrier of the skies, the Boeing 747. With punchy red and white dial colours, the usual Navi chapter ring, plus a numbered case, this one is for aviation fans everywhere.
At £7300 this isn’t the most expensive Navi in the range but it is slightly more than the Triumph blue, or plain black dial variants, or the smaller 41mm case models. This has the wide body 43mm case. Here’s the word from Breitling;
“The Boeing 747 made its maiden voyage in 1969, and went on to revolutionize civil aviation, putting long-haul flights within reach of a new generation of air travelers and connecting the world like never before. As Boeing delivers its last 747, Breitling celebrates two aviation icons with a special-edition Navitimer, limited to 747 pieces.
The Navitimer Boeing 747’s colors echo the palette found on the original aircraft, captured in the cream dial with black subdials, and red inner slide-rule scale with blue accents. The open caseback reveals the exceptional Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. It is engraved with “One of 747” and the phrase “The Original Jumbo Jet”—providing a poignant tribute to an aircraft that opened the skies and changed the way we travel.”
