We just spotted this one on Kickstarter and as it’s already funded it’s going ahead.
Say hello to the Aerotec Ace AX GMT diver. It’s an interesting dial finish too, with a sort of textured effect which looks like the surface of the moon. Seiko NH34 movement, 200m of resistance and a sapphire crystal. The lume is unusual too, in that it’s placed almost like a chapter ring on the dial, as well as on the hands.
We love the quirky retro diver mask on the caseback too, stands out from the pack.
Aerotec are an Indie watch brand based in Toronto by the way, they also make a beautiful bronze case Ace model, which retails for $499 (US) on their website right now.
Not sure the lume layout works alongside the vivid dial colours too. But what do you think?
Here’s the word from Aerotec;
“The AX GMT Diver is the new chapter of the AEROTEC story, originally designed with the ACE crystal and CORAL BAY’S indices and handset. The AX is a tribute to simple and robust tool-watches.
First of all, the design of the AX – Diver GMT has been based on reusing available tooling. The AX-GMT uses the same tooling as the ACE and Coral Bay to avoid producing a new one and therefore save a lot of energy. Secondly, the technical conception makes the production processes even simpler and less energy and material-consuming than the Sea Hunt. Lastly, like for the Ace, we wanted to use a repurposed movement which we found by sourcing the latest Seiko NH34 GMT automatic movement.”
Prices start at £273 on the early bird deal, which is good value.
