Weiss Launches Dive Watch

Indie brand Weiss has launched their first dive watch. Featuring a 300m rated, 42mm steel case it has an in-house movement based on the Soprod M100 Calibre.

The dial is quite plain, functional, with big bold numbers set on a white, black or yellow dial plate colour. Plenty of lume all round and it’s a hand-painted dial by the way.

The bezel is unidirectional and gain has a utilitarian feel about it, this is a tool watch. Just look at the caseback, which has the polished steel solidity of an internal hatch on a submarine. Great polishing.

Made in Nashville, this is a bespoke peiece which come sin a red oak wooden box, with an adjustment tool for removing bracelet pins, so the new owner can get the perfect fit.

Expensive for an Indie watch at $2,950, with import duty on top for UK buyers. As much as we love the handbuilt vibe, there are better Indie dive watch choices out there, from Christopher Ward, Enoksen, Yema, Baltic, Zelos and many more.
