If you buy a fake Moonswatch on AliExpress then you can’t really expect the movement to be Swiss, or even very good quality. Or can you? We decided to take a look at the Chinese quartz movement to find out. On the outside, the case, dial and hands actually look OK, and the Omega logo is faked very convincingly too.

Is this attention to detail to be found inside?

Actually the Sunon movement inside the £28 Moonswatch look-a-like isn’t too bad and if you need to change a battery it is fairly easy to get inside and snap the caseback on again. Here’s a You Tube video we made earlier;
