As Father’s Day approaches in the UK, we take a look at some of the watch bargains around. Because, a watch is always a winner for many a bloke.
ACCURIST CHRONOGRAPH
The retro themed Accurist chronograph is now down to £84.99 on the company’s UK website and that’s a decent saving. Classic black dial, white sub dials and red second hand. Got the push button bracelet release and 50m of water resistance. More here.
CASIO UNDER £30? THAT’LL DO
There are hundreds of variations on the Cassio digital/G-SHOCK theme, going up 2K in price. But a durable, cheap Casio is an essential everyday watch in our book. When you just need the time, and an alarm feature, in a package with a 2-4 year battery lifespan, Casio can do the job.
The Jewel Hut has an MCW-200 in grey/blue, with a 53mm case width, chrono functions, night light, alarm n stopwatch etc. All for £29.99. Can’t go wrong. More here.
BEAVERBROOKS
The High Street jeweller has two Bremont models with handy £1000 reductions on the RRP. Still £7595 for the Jaguar themed model though.
Elsewhere Beaverbrooks has a selection of Citizen, Boss and some Casio G-SHOCKs with a hundred quid or so knocked off.
FRASER HART
Another big jewellery chain FH has a decent selection of watch brands in store. In the fashion brand section, there are reductions of about 30-40% on several Boss, Hilfiger and Casio models.
More tempting is 8% off a TAG Monaco, even if it is a grey dial model. Now £4650, or how abaout an Omega Constellation for £4840?
Something affordable and Swiss? A Longines Conquest VHP chrono in black at £1130, down from over 1500 is a deal worth looking at.
ARGOS
If your Dad has declining eyesight then a lumibrite watch could be a great gift. Argos has some stocks of the Lorus Lumibrite, which has a complete lume on the dial, plus day and date. Price is just £19.99 which is a third off.
