If you want something made by hand then you have to pay decent money, that’s how it is with classic cars, guitars, clothes or watches. So when we got an email from Adammbommb with pics of his hand-sanded Fordite dials, we thought it was well worth posting the news.
In fact this week NWC mag is showcasing all things MOD watch, as we love customising them, fitting new bezels, swapping movements, new crystals, straps etc.
These Adammbommb watches have automatic movements, some with see-thru casebacks and those stunning, rippling kinda psychedelic colours. They are watches for vintage Pop Art fans, Pink Floydians or just anyone who still enjoys The Time Tunnel on DVD.
What is Fordite? It’s actually known as Detroit agate, and is built up layers of old paint, salvaged from US cars that have gone to that Route 666 in the sky…see what we did there?
OK never mind, you can check out Adamm’s backstory at his site and the watches start at about £850.
