The great thing about Kickstarter is that it offers a democracy of ideas and design details. You can choose from a palette of inspiration, going back three centuries in watchmaking and then fuse some modern day touches in there.
The result can be something bold and bright like this Shirahama dive model, by Namica Watches, available to order on Kick. It’s overfunded and I mean massively over-subscribed, so it is definitely happening.
With bright blue, brilliant white of a fume purple dial, this watch also has a two-tone bezel, with contrasting DLC black, or a beautiful turquoise-blue edging. It really stands out.
With 200m resistance, sapphire crystal and a Seiko NH38 engine, this ticks the right boxes in terms of tech spec as well. Our fave is the special Tokyo NEO edition, with the purple dial and it’s no surprise that they are sold out.
Far as we can tell just the NEO Tokyo Silver and Black DLC variants are still available at $399 plus taxes.
