New Year, New Watch? More Sale Bargains We Spotted

We did some scouring on this fine New Year’s Day. No, not the pan following a breakfast fry-up, but scouring the internet for bargain reductions on very nice watches.

ORIS

An Oris Aquis dive model with £400 off the list price is very welcome and that’s the deal at Chisholm Hunter. This black dial model is 43.5mm wide and has a depth rating of up to 300m. Nice value for £1150 we think.

AMJ online also has an Oris Aquis Date 36 in matt black for £819, which is down from £1170.

TISSOT

If you like the classic gents quartz, slimline style watch, then the Tissot Gentlemen model ticks the boxes. Swiss brand name, reliable, goes with any occasion as they say. We saw this one at £235 at Ernest Jones, down about £110 from list price.

There’s something to be said for the Tissot automatics, especially the 1853 chronograph, with white dial, 43mm case, huge chunky winding crown plus pushers. It’s a statement watch for just £550, down from £790. Can’t go wrong at that money.

SEIKO

How do you like the sound of a Seiko Prospex 20mm diver’s watch for £245? That is the deal at H Samuel right now, and even though it’s the solar powered model, not an automatic, we still rate this discount highly.

We also saw the ever popular Seiko 5 from £195 upwards, which is about 50 quid less than the usual RRP, depending on the dial colour. We also spotted a Prospex automatic, Samurai style, with blue dial, for £280, down from the £400 RRP. Nice.

Finally a Seiko Presage with a wonderful deep green, fan type dial, is just £265, down from £380. Given that Seiko are price-walking the Presage range upwards right now, that seems like a good time to buy if you like collecting the Presage models.
