Here is a brand we missed until recently, but revival French brand Wolbrook – plus the sub-brand Douglas – are worth checking out. With meca-quartz movements and retro styling they offer great value for a watch assembled in the expensive EU and considering a Douglas watch was once worn by astronaut Neil Armstrong, they have a big heritage to live up to.
The Wolbrook Skindiver is a new model, with a Seiko quartz movement, 100m resistance and a sapphire crystal. Plenty of superlume on this 40mm all-rounder and at £169 on a NATO strap it is fair value. Just £220 for the steel bracelet variant.
