Zelos Starfighter: Retro Chrono Looks, ETA Power

The Zelos Starfighter. No, not a new Star Wars merchandising opportunity, but a very cool name for a watch.

Zelos are a very popular indie brand, making tough dive watches, with a great spec for the money, plus beautiful dials. The Starfighter also features an ETA Swiss movement, so yeah, it’s a winner at $1400 (some models are $1599 by the way) in our view as it captures 70s chrono style with that box crystal touch which Seiko loves to do very well too.

Stunning meteorite dial option, plus a Spitfire version with a piece of Spitfire aluminium in there.

Here’s the word from Zelos;

Presenting the Starfighter, one of the sleekest automatic chronographs with its sharp lugs and slim 11mm case thickness. Powered by a Swiss ETA 2894 with bi-compax layout which is visible from the back with a custom ‘turbine’ rotor.

The 316L SS case and bracelet are also hardened to 1200Hv, ensuring great scratch or wear resistance. The vintage styled ‘box’ crystal is made from sapphire which is extremely hard to scratch as well.5 variants will be available, with an all new dual color meteorite dial and limited edition featuring a ‘Spitfire’ dial made from an actual Spitfire aluminum skin. Pieces are limited and might sell out so do act quick!

The Starfighter goes on sale on the 27th December by the way. More info here.
