The Seamaster, Sea Dweller, DeepSea, Tissot Sea Star, Super Sea Wolf, Seagull…there are plenty of sea themed watch names out there. But SeaQ? Keep it simple and it just works. Sounds like a military call signal, bit James Bond-ish too. Nice work Glashutte.
This a 39.5mm wide watch, inspired by a vintage 1969 Glasshutte model. It has a bit of gold plating on the crown and coin edge bezel too. Just 200m of depth resistance, which is a slight letdown at this price level tbh.
The watch is a classic dive model too. Here’s the word from Glashutte;
Cool stainless steel case in combination with yellow gold makes a powerful impression. The deep blue ceramic inlay of the rotating bezel offers exceptional scratch resistance. Super-LumiNova on the hands and numerals ensures optimal legibility under all lighting conditions. Shimmering golden appliques and hands provide warm accents and form a contrast with the galvanized blue dial.
The SeaQ is compliant with the DIN 8306 and ISO 6425 standards for diver’s watches and thus meets the most rigorous German and international standards of quality.
Synthetic nylon type strap or silicon rubber options. The downside is the price at £10,700 for the entry level model. Ouch.
