The word from Milus watches;
Archimèdes by Milus is the modern successor to the Milus Super Compressor of the 70s. To create a stunningly contemporary watch, the models’ reinvention was subsequently a question of research and proportions. A stunning vertical brushed silver dial features a bi-directional inner diver bezel with royal blue accents. All markings are executed in natural Super-Luminova for accurate timekeeping in all conditions.
The three hour digits at the cardinal points, 3 o’clock date window and famous “Broad Arrow” hands coated in SuperLuminova combine seamlessly to bolster readability. Its ETA 2892 movement is protected in a 41mm steel case equipped with a helium valve, resistant up to 30 ATM or 300 metres.
We like the deep dished dial on this one, plus with a helium valve and 300m depth it’s a decent tool watch as well as something you can wear every day. An unusual, slightly left field choice maybe, but Milus have been making watches for over a century in Switzerland, so you’re buying quality. This makes an interesting alternative to an Oris Aquis or Ball Engineer, which are also about £1500, but have a more punchy, in-your-face design than this kinda restrained model.
Price is CHF1919 or about £1490, inc taxes – but not UK import duties.
