New Watches: Tissot Tour de France Chronograph

Tissot loves cycling, and as the “Official Timekeeper” of the Tour de France, you would expect a watch that celebrates this incredible endurance event. It also comes with a yellow strap, which kinda puts you ahead of the pack. Nice touch.

Here’s the latest on this year’s official Tissot Tour watch from the Tissot website;

The Tissot Supersport Tour de France 2020 watch is aimed at unconditional fans of the race whose highlights are capable of unleashing passions around the globe. Swiss made, the 2020 version of this 45.5 mm diameter quartz chronograph is dressed in red and yellow, the official colours of the Tour.

Its ergonomic and aerodynamic design is here accentuated by four large hands making it easy to tell the time, even when riding a bike. The very dynamic dial is balanced with three auxiliary dials that also provide an allusion to bike wheels. Better still, a bright yellow bicycle is engraved on the counterweight of the large second hand of the chronograph which gives a clear reading of the time while the tachymetre scale on the bezel can be used to calculate a cyclist’s speed over a given distance.

Fair Value

One of the best features is the price, at just £355 in the UK. Ok, that is a fair chunk of cash for a quartz, but you get Swiss build quality and back-up if you should have problems.

The case is in 316 L stainless steel, as are the chronograph push-buttons that have been given a black band. The Tissot Supersport Tour de France 2020 is fitted with an interchangeable nylon and rubber strap and a brown leather strap featuring a bicycle, giving a vintage touch to the watch. Last but not least, the case back is engraved with the Tour de France logo.
